Cheap Pörssisähkö is a contract where the price varies according to the Nord Pool electricity exchange’s hourly spot prices for the Finnish market area. With a spot electricity contract, the price is always up-to-date and competitively sourced.
If you're ready to adjust your electricity consumption according to the hourly prices, you can save on electricity costs with spot electricity. However, the flip side of spot electricity is the risk of price increases and occasional high price spikes. If you don’t mind a little risk, Cheap Spot Electricity could be your choice. And as the old saying goes, over the long term, spot electricity usually ends up being cheaper than fixed-price electricity contracts.
The contract is valid until further notice, and you can terminate or switch to another electricity contract with a 14-day notice period.

The price of exchange electricity is determined by supply and demand in the Nord Pool electricity exchange. Each hour of the day has its own price, called the spot price. The price of spot electricity can fluctuate significantly between different hours and days.
When the price is low, you benefit immediately. On the other hand, when the price climbs high, it also immediately reflects on your electricity bill. Therefore, spot electricity encourages consumers to optimize their electricity usage, and shift it to times when electricity is abundant and cheaper. The hourly prices for the next day are published at around 15:00. This allows you to plan your electricity consumption for the next day, avoiding price spikes and benefiting from low hourly prices.
